Smile POS Championship Golf Tournament Rules

General Rules

1. Format: The tournament will be played in a stroke play format over 18 holes.
2. Tee Times: Tee times will be assigned and communicated to all participants prior to the tournament day.
3. Rules of Play: The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the USGA Rules of Golf.

Scoring

1. Scorecards: Each player is responsible for their own scorecard. All scorecards must be signed and submitted to the scoring table immediately after the round.
2. Handicap: Players may submit any handicap. The tournament committee will verify all submitted handicaps prior to the event.
3. Ties: In the event of a tie, the player with the lower handicap will be declared the winner. If the tie persists, we will compare the scores hole-by-hole, starting from the 18th hole and moving backwards, until the winner is determined.
4. Winning Score Cap: The winning score will be capped at a maximum of -3.

Trophies and Prizes

1. Trophies:
   • The Low Gross and Low Net winners will receive trophies, which they will hold for one year and return for the next tournament. Winners’ names will be engraved on the trophies each year.
   • Winners must return the trophies in good condition before the next tournament.
2. Prizes: Additional prizes will be awarded for various categories, including but not limited to:
   • Closest to the Pin
   • Longest Drive

Conduct

1. Sportsmanship: Players are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship and abide by the rules of golf and the tournament.
2. Etiquette: Respect for the course, fellow players, and tournament officials is mandatory. Any misconduct may result in disqualification.
3. Pace of Play: Players are expected to maintain a reasonable pace of play. Slow play penalties may be enforced.

Special Rules

1. Local Rules: Any additional local rules will be provided on the day of the tournament.
2. Inclement Weather: In case of inclement weather, the tournament committee will make decisions regarding delays or cancellations. Players will be informed accordingly.
3. Lost Ball: A lost ball incurs a 1-stroke penalty and can be dropped at the closest spot where the ball entered the area of loss.
4. Out of Bounds (OB): If a lost ball is close to being out of bounds (OB), it should be considered OB. Players must either re-hit from the original spot or drop a ball at the closest spot where the ball entered OB, incurring a 2-stroke penalty.
5. Par 3 Drop Areas: All Par 3 holes have designated drop areas for lost balls or unplayable lies.
6. Teeing Off: Male players will tee off from the blue tees on all holes. Female players will tee off from the red tees on all holes.

Registration and Fees

1. Registration: All participants must register and pay the entry fee through the tournament website, smileposcup.com.
2. Entry Fee: The entry fee must be paid in full prior to the tournament. No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 48 hours of the tournament start time.

Disputes

1. Resolution: Any disputes or questions regarding rules or scoring will be resolved by the tournament committee. The committee’s decision will be final.
